All you need to do is change some key strings in regedit

Im xp service pack 3 i think xD

Go start, run, regedit, HKEY_local_machine, Activision, Call of duty 4, Here you got lots of string values.

InstallPath: must be set to your installpath D:\blabla\Call of Duty
InstallDrive: D
EXEStringS: D:\blabla\Call of Duty\iw3sp.exe
EXEStringM: D:\blabla\Call of Duty\iw3mp.exe

If you do it like that (replace blabla with your own folders) it will work
